Abstract

The essay takes its basis from the information and labelling duties, laid down by the European legislator for food products, in order to analyse the use of the apps aimed to help the consumer in the choice of foods that best meet his or her needs. Although Healthy Eating Apps can be a valuable aid in the interpretation of the information on the label, their use raises several legal issues related mainly to the control of safety in the functioning of the algorithm and software, as well as the processing of personal data that consumers can enter in the app.
