Abstract
The translation of Grotius’s De iure belli is a difficult and demanding undertaking. The result achieved by the editors and translators confirms the seminal importance of Grotius’ work, its belonging to the «canon» of Western political-juridical reflection, its permanent «actuality» in focusing on the connections and aporias that mark the relationship between the organization of power and the exercise of violence
