Abstract
The Chigi I.VI.203 manuscript, preserved at the Vatican Library, whose tradition seems to date back to Ciriaco d’Ancona, devotes several pages to the inscriptions of Milan. The analysis of these pages allows on the one hand to question the ways in which the epigraphic material collected by Ciriaco was transmitted during the 15th century; and on the other hand to recognize in the intellectual Gabriele Paveri Fontana, born in Piacenza and later one of Filelfo’s students in Milan, a possible correspondent of Ciriaco himself.
