Abstract
The paper concerns a fragmentary inscription of Rome which recalls the freedman Numenius honored by the army with one or more golden crowns and with a ‘laudatio publica’, and a Peducaeus Latro. In order to frame the text chronologically and topographically, it will be taken into consideration the known cases of military decorations to freedmen, the events of the senatorial and equestrian Peducaei in the first two centuries of the imperial age and the evidences of the monumentum familiae libertorum et servorum Sex. Peducaei.
