Abstract
The contribution, divided into two sections, focuses on the relationship of Filippo Beroaldo the Elder with his students through two different testimonies. The first section presents an hitherto unpublished epistle by the Bolognese professor dedicated to the explanation of some rare Latin words of technical use, especially in the architectural field: the name of Francesco Maria Grapaldo is proposed for the anonymous addressee. The second section presents the notes of the Bolognese notary Cesare Nappi, taken from an autograph zibaldone and relating to some explanations given to him by Beroaldo on the architectural vocabulary of two letters by Pliny the Younger. Both the letter and the notes are given in Italian translation and commentary
