Abstract
The paper examines the presence of Dante in Giovanni Villani’s ‘Nuova cronica’ in almost all the manuscripts of the tradition. It is divided into two sections: the first one offers tables recording references to Dante attributed to the author, i.e. Dante’s biography and nine quotations from the ‘Commedia’; the second presents materials related to the poet introduced by copyists and readers throughout the history of the tradition.
