Abstract
Based on the paleographic and linguistic analysis of the scribes involved in the transcription of the text, rubrics, and captions in the images of the Holkham misc. 48 ‘Commedia’ (Oxford, Bodleian Library), the essay proposes a series of hypotheses regarding the localization of the manuscript and its complex production process. This complexity is reflected not only in the high number of hands working on the manuscript but also in the heterogeneity of the exegetical material used to structure rubrics and captions, likely comparable to the commentaries of Iacomo della Lana and Anonimo Lombardo
