Abstract
This article sets out a stylistic comparison of two unpublished Italian translations of Petrarch’s letters, done by Antonio Meneghelli and Francesco Negri, with the corresponding translations by Giuseppe Fracassetti. Meneghelli and Negri’s translations are included in MS It. XI 197 (= 7600) in the Marciana Library (Venice), written by Bartolomeo Gamba. In addition, a critical edition of Petrarch’s ‘Dispersa’ 30 is provided.
