Abstract

This article is aimed at analyzing the manuscripts of the third-century apocryphal "Acts of Thomas" ("AT") that contain only the first two acts of the apostle and his martyrdom. The Greek manuscripts which include the text of the "AT" in Bonnet’s critical edition have never been revisited. In our research, we have detected an important number of manuscripts presenting the above format of the text – including four unedited codices –, which allows us to establish a more solid connection among the different texts and manuscripts of the "AT" that focus only on the first two acts and the martyrdom.
