Abstract
In logion 61 of the "Gospel of Thomas", we find a number of old text-critical problems to be addressed, yet once again, in this new reading of the text. The method of new philology informs the present study, which accordingly demands a 4th–5th century contextualisation in the religious milieu that penned down and read the Coptic text of the "Gospel of Thomas" in Nag Hammadi Codex II.
