Abstract
Apart from a brief polemical passage in Mt 10.5-6, Samaria and the Samaritans are elements of “remoteness /proximityµ for the NT literature centered on Jerusalem and interested in the disputes over worship: Luke-Acts and John. This denounces a very ancient and problematic contact between the Christian communities of Judea and an indistinct “northµ, soon to become present. The impression that Samaria is considered as the first step towards the mission to the West is confirmed by the writings called "Pseudo-Clementines", and generally by the treatment given to Simon Magician in sub-apostolic literature: is it actually opposition to Paul and his preaching, considered syncretistic?
