Abstract
The essay investigates the theme of beauty in Simone Weil’s thought and shows the intimate intertwining of ethics, aesthetics and epistemology that runs through the French philosopher’s entire reflection. Focusing in particular on the writings dedicated to Greek revelation, the author offers a precise analysis of the experience of beauty as an opening to mystery and the divine. Finally, the essay concludes with a comparison with Dietrich von Hildebrand’s thought that beauty constitutes an exclusive access to truth.
