Abstract
The main purpose of this article is exploring a review on moral disengagement in organizational context, defined as social-cognitive mechanisms that allow individuals to act in contradiction with their own moral standards and in contrast to organizational rules, without having to forgo them. These mechanisms may contribute to explain the individual and organizational factors and their interactions that may facilitate the acting of counterproductive behavior within organizations and, in general, all deviant behaviors acted in work context. In depth examinations of the construct introduced in this perspective may be considered as a useful starting point for further efforts to a greater understanding of processes that may facilitate deviant behavior and towards ethics and morality at work.
