Abstract
This contribution offers a path through courts’ decisions, which proves to be a favourable observatory of the interweaving of legal and social norms. The decisions’ analysis will allow to give an account, starting from the direct experience of women, of the current terms of the social conflict still open on abortion, and to verify the correspondence between the argumentative frameworks that over the years have fed the public discourse against the Italian law No. 194/1978 ruling abortion and the strategy that appears to be unfolding at a global level for the reintroduction of the criminal ban on abortion
