Abstract

This is the tale of the friendship between MP and the author, while at the same time telling the story of the development of the first Italian experiments in urban safety policies in the early 90s. The article discusses the relationship between research and policy implementation on the part of a particular local government during at least twenty years, showing the different points of view of the researcher and the politically responsible partner.
