Abstract
This is a reflection, from a feminist point of view, on the question of metaphorical and real walls. Real walls are currently being erected at "every street corner", between countries and inside them, to keep out and to keep in. But walls refer also to limits to what we can and cannot do: some we may want to overcome, others we may want to accept and even cherish. The way in which we conceive of our incarnated selves also has to do with "walls" and limits, as there is consistency and continuity between the sovereign state of modernity and the modern sovereign individual.
