Abstract
The paper deals with the FIM-CISL field research in the framework of the problems faced by Italian industrial firms, mainly the low productivity dynamics, and of the technical and organizational solutions to face them. It discusses the usefulness of the research, its limits and some possibilities to improve the information that can be derived from it.
