Abstract
Contemporary clinical reflection invites us to consider the forms of current uneasiness and the conditions of extension of the practice. Starting from the centrality of the psychoanalytic situation, the essential question concerns the possibilities of analytic listening in heterogeneous fields. The clinical experience in a prison provides an opportunity to question the specificity of the analyst’s position in listening: absence/ presence, reflexivity, internal setting, neutrality. The particular clinical circumstance calls for considerations on ethical aspects, in particular on the analyst’s responsibility as custodian of the setting
