Abstract
The work of Tullio Seppilli, founder of the Italian Society of Medical Anthropology and of AM. Journal of the Italian Society of Medical Anthropology, allows a presentation of a non-reductionist concept of healing, combining psyche and soma, social ties and historical and social context. Seppilli’s last text introducing Charcot, La foi qui guérit (1892) presents the possible genealogy of this concept.
