Abstract
The case of Wanna Marchi makes us think of healing in terms of the need to be healed and the risks this entails when it results in the illusion of being saved. At the heart of the system of selling and swindling set up by the Marchi and her group is in fact a salvific promise of good fortune or pseudo-healing that becomes for the spectator a deceptive source of consolation. The phenomenon seems to lend itself to a reflection on certain elements of the dynamic of the promise of healing or pseudo-healing that has captivated and hoodwinked viewers
