Abstract

Human matter is psychocorporeal. The erotic drive, a push that comes from the body, extroverts the human being into the world towards the profound sensuality of the experience that the encounter with what is outside oneself offers and triggers the psychic work of representing oneself and reality. Society acts on this matter: through sublimation which extends the space of experience while maintaining its sensuality; by conforming the experience to behavioral canons they disembody it. The current use of the term gender reflects the tendency to bring disembodiment towards the extreme of a purely formal definition of the human being.
