Abstract
This note analyses and discusses the reaction of the Italian welfare system in the midts of the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic crisis. After discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the Italian government’s economic policy action, a hypothesis is proposed for strengthening the social protection system in line with demand and industrial policies aimed at strengthening the production system and reducing inequalities.
