Abstract

This article presents and discusses the measures about pensions introduced by the Italian Budget Law for 2024. The main aim was to tighten the conditions for early retirement in order to reduce public pension spending. However, these new rules, on the one hand, are not enough to definitively address the issue of rising retirement ages and, on the other hand, do not deal with the risk of future inadequate benefits received by individuals with disadvantaged working careers.
