Abstract
The article presents a sociological reflection around Italy’s Law 168/2023, also known as the Roccella Law, which is presented by the government as a significant stride in addressing male violence against women and domestic violence. The examination focuses on key provisions of the law, contextualizing them within the sociocultural Italian context and utilizes the Istanbul Convention (2011) on «preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence» as a crucial guide in the realm of gender-based violence.
