Abstract

This essay analyses the effectiveness of administrative decentralization in the cultural heritage field, from the inside: the Author is a Ministry for the Cultural Heritage and Activities official. The debate about administrative decentralization in Cultural Heritage, in Italy, has been strong since 19° Century. This essay lightens the disadvantages of these politics, underlining the basic role of intergovernmental cooperation for Cultural Heritage preservation and valorization.
