Abstract

The Article 117 of Italian Constitution, like modified by constitutional reform of 2001, provides for concurrent legislative competences for State and local governments in the performing arts sector. After 2001, local governments have taken over very important spaces in the govern of this sector in terms of funding of performing arts and also in the performance of public functions relating the conservation, digitalization of filmic and audiovisual heritage and the regional planning of cinematographic offer. This paper aims to investigate if and how the law 14 November 2016, no. 220, has changed or reinforced the competence framework.
