Abstract

The paper discusses the archives under two aspects: as sets of documents and as entities that store sets of documents. With regard to the first aspect, the paper discusses the increasingly shared conception of archives as elements of cultural heritage. With regard to the second aspect, the paper examines the mission of the archives aimed at spreading culture, as well as their legal organisation, particularly according to the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers (d.p.c.m.) n. 169/2019.
