Bio
Dr. Nikolaos (Nikos) Papadopoulos is a researcher, lecturer and practicing lawyer. He has worked as a researcher and lecturer for several universities and other institutions and he has provided consultancy services to various international and national organisations. He also serves as the coordinator of the Greek section of the Academic Network on the European Social Charter and Social Rights (ANESC). He studied Law at the European University of Cyprus under an âÃÂÃÂAcademic ExcellenceâÃÂàscholarship and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree magna cum laude in 2015. Parallel to that he studied Political Science and Public Administration at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, receiving a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in 2016. In 2018, he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree cum laude from the European Law School of Maastricht University and, in 2023, he obtained a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in European Law from the Law Faculty of Maastricht University. His PhD research, supervised by Prof. Bruno de Witte and Prof. Anne Pieter van der Mei, was funded by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) and the National Bank of Greece. His work has been published in several international and national journals and edited books and he has presented his research in numerous international conferences and seminars. Nikolaos is a qualified lawyer at the Athens Bar Association and has worked as an associate at a law firm based in Athens, specializing in social law. He is an alumnus of the American College of Greece and is fluent in Greek, English, German and French.
