Abstract
Results from a research on training evaluation practices performed by Italian companies in the fashion and textile industry are discussed. Author stresses out the factors explaining the scanty recurrence of documented processes and formal systems of training evaluation among Italian companies; examines literature in order to understand the adaptability of practices of informal self-evaluation to existing models of training evaluation and quests whether ethnography in organizations can sustain the improvement of training evaluation. Results show the prospect to adopt participatory methodologies in order to strengthen informal self-evaluation and make it accountable.
