Abstract
This essay explores the fragmentary thoughts of early western thinkers on the path marked by the main ‘distinction’ between Truth and Reality. It points out an underlying effect of the antinomic argumentation, not only in the Eleatics and in Gorgias, but in most of the examined thinkers, Socrates included. Then it tries to argue why this happens
