Abstract

Anorexia, the contemporary disease, is mainly due to clinical reasons, but also to society in its entirety: media, advertisement and feminine models spread by the world of glam. Fashion, as a generator of over thin-beauty models, is a good field to work on, in order to increase awareness about this disease. The Italian Fashion Chamber and the Government have collaborated and drawn up a formal self-regulating document to fight anorexia, that involves model agencies, stylists, fashion institutes and associations.
