Abstract
The article outlines features and arguments of the movements of opposition or dissent to great events, by presenting the case study of Torino 2006. The dissenters underline the necessity to duly programme the material heritage of the event, but without neglecting the immaterial one. Consensus or, at least, the mediation among the different interests allows to produce better projects and cohesion in the local community. This is a fundamental reflection in a period when all the cities of the world stake on big events as a strategy for development.
