Abstract

The act of trusting has always been hard, especially today, in the absence of strong reference points at the ethical and institutional levels. Trusting implies that the id, the person, the subject or whatever we wish to call it, gives up control of the relationship with itself and with others. As opposed to other periods in the history of mankind, control over one's own acts appears to be an essential quality in today's society.
