Abstract
Food security is a complex and multidimensional issue. In order to take on its challenges, especially now that climate change is worsening the food situation worldwide, working on technological innovation in agriculture is just not enough. Instead, it is necessary to take into account also the cultural dimension of food production. As a matter of fact, besides natural assets, such as water, soil, biodiversity and so on, that are so essential in the process of producing food, also cultural resources, such as social systems and local knowledge, are fundamental.
