Abstract

Africa has a considerable economic potential despite the mood swings of the world economy, and the Mediterranean area could strengthen its central role between Europe seeking new sources of growth and Sub Saharan Africa meeting Europe's requirements, at least in the mid-term. The infrastructures and raw materials of the Maghreb are essential for dynamic and sustainable economic growth. As far as non fossil raw materials are concerned, a key role could be carried out by renewables, solar in particular.
