Abstract
Besides his charisma, the levers of power of Chavez, were nationalism and the redistribution of oil revenues to the poorest part of the population. With the fall in oil prices and the absence of diversification of production activities, social tensions have increased. The collapse of the Venezuelan economy is evident, and with Maduro, Venezuela is plummeting into a humanitarian crisis.
