Abstract

It is necessary a new scientific paradigm based on the valorization of agro ecosystems biodiversity (spontaneous and cultivated flora, underground microbiota, habitat and landscape) in order to transition agricultural systems towards wider sustainability. The knowledge of biodiversity functional traits and the ecological processes at the base of ecosystem services is the starting point for defining strategies to ensure the regeneration of natural asset.
