Abstract
As a consequence of global urbanization that is causing depopulation and impoverishing of the main services, European rural areas are experiencing a deep transformation. In order to reverse this trend it is suggested the activation of social innovation measures at different scales and different intensities to increase appeal and competitiveness of rural areas.
