Abstract
The essay deals with the expansion of the Brazilian boundary in the Mato Grosso Stae during the 19th-20th century. The article focuses on ideation, construction, superposition and interaction of different spaces in the process of the occupation of the National Territory. This period marks the transition between Empire and Republic. Special attention is paid to the action of the Militaries and Catholic Missionaries in the process of conquest and colonisation of the Bororo's Tribal Territory.
