Abstract
The High Commission for Hygiene and Public Health was an institution founded by Italian government in July 1945. It anticipated the founding, in 1958, of the Ministry of Health. The essay focuses on the main journals published by the High Commission: «Annali della sanità pubblica» and «Notiziario dell’Amministrazione sanitaria», describing their contents (scientific and no), internal organization, graphic composition and providing information about the most important people of the editorial boards.
