Abstract

This essay reconstructs the history of the archive of the main Italian newspaper, «Corriere della Sera». It is a very important archive, because it is the only one that has kept the documentation (paper documents, drawings, photographs) from its foundation (1876) until today, including material concerning some illustrated magazines linked to the newspaper. This archive proves to be an essential source for the history of Italian cultural life, as many of the country’s leading intellectuals collaborated in it.
