Abstract
The decision to donate his private correspondence, working documents, public speeches and photographic images to the Historical Archive of the Presidency of the Republic was taken by Giorgio Napolitano a few years ago, at the end of a long reflection and after consulting some friends and experts. He came to the conclusion that the unity of his papers should be preserved and that the most appropriate location was the Historical Archive of the Quirinale. The fund bears witness to Giorgio Napolitano’s long political-institutional and cultural journey and illustrates the quantity and variety of human relationships, both at a national and international level, that he woven into his life.
