Abstract
This paper aims to bring to light the innovative role played by the Committee of Public Safety in leading the war against the monarchic States of Europe, focusing on the main political measures adopted by the Revolutionary Government between 1793 and 1794. More specifically, the attention will be devoted to political, economic and military reforms, in order to appreciate how the improvement of weaponry manufacturing and the reorganisation of the Army succeeded in defeating the armies of the First Coalition.
