Abstract
The author analyzes the international women's conference that took place in Mexico City in 1975. During this conference, women's rights were subordinated to the tensions and the ideological conflicts that exploded between the states participating in this event. According to the author, these tensions, which were a product of the Seventies, made the women's movements able to build an international network which flourished in the following years.
