Abstract

Friedrich Stadler's book "Studien zum Wiener Kreis" is one of the most important contributions to the history of logical empiricism in the last years. The critical review of Massimo Ferrari shows both the importance of Stadler's historical inquiry into the background of the Vienna Circle and some limits of his analysis, which seems to pay more attention to the context rather than to the philosophical core of logical empiricism.
