Abstract
Through this work, we want to deepen Goldmann’s thought and underline what, in our opinion, was his greatest contribution in the historical-philosophical field. That is the intrinsically tragic nature of any dialectical movement. Retracing the major works of Goldmann, we focus in particular on those relating to the thought of Pascal, Racine and Kant. It is from here, in fact, that the central thesis of our work starts: every dialectic has a strictly tragic core, the only one that can set in motion the engine of history and political action.
