Abstract
The authors critically analyse Mari’s book from different points of view. Givone focuses on the centrality of the concept of freedom, placed by Mari right inside the work, thus freed from its dependence on necessity. It is in this panorama that he can follow the evolutions and the actuality of the figure of the artefice. Petrucciani develops a close comparison between the theses supported by Mari and the ideas offered by Marxian reflection: it is in fact possible to trace in Marx an overcoming of the antithesis between work and «free time» that goes precisely in the direction of self-realization in work, as proposed by Mari. Sbisà critically examines the relationship between Mari’s theses and the speech acts theory; in this way she succeeds in proposing some remarks on Mari’s proposals about the care work, where the innovations introduced by the new technologies are different and more complicated.
