Abstract

Chiara Saraceno and Salvatore Veca discuss Nicla Vassallo's «Il matrimonio omosessuale è contro natura». Falso! («Same-sex Marriage is Against Nature». False!). The authors present the main theses developed in the book and critically analyze them. Saraceno shows how Vassallo de-constructs the assumptions lying behind the arguments against same-sex marriage, particularly those concerning heteronormativity. Veca reads the book through Rawlsian lenses and argues for a political and anti-metaphysical reconsideration of the issue of the civil rights for Lgbtq citizens.
