Abstract

Laura Bazzicalupo, Alessandro Ferrara and Luca Mori discuss Stefano Petrucciani's "Democrazia" ("Democracy"). The authors present the main theses developed in the book and critically analyze them. Bazzicalupo deals with the relations between the market and the contemporary crisis of democracy. Ferrara focuses on Petrucciani's foundation of democracy in a dialogue with contemporary political philosophy (Calogero, Rawls and Habermas, among others). Luca Mori discusses the ways contemporary democracies face new forms of collective consensus, such as those of the social media.
