Abstract

The present note focuses on the issue of the institution in Carl Schmitt’s theoretical work as recently investigated by M. Croce and A. Salvatore, on their L’indecisionista. Carl Schmitt oltre l’eccezione (2020). The author starts from this book to consider both Schmitt’s contribution to the study of politics and the traditional accounts on political institutions which defined the framework of the debate. The connection between society and law, which characterises the institution, neither removes nor overcomes the problem of the Political. Instead, it implies the necessity of a re-examination in a conceptual perspective alternative to the modern political concept of power
